A record attendance and a spectacular goalscoring festival
Barcelona and Real Sociedad Femenino played a match for the history books in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Women's Champions League. The Catalans won 9-1 with a hat-trick from Asisat Oshoala, a brace from Aitana Bonmatí and goals from Claudia Pina, Ana-Maria Crnogorcevic, Graham Hansen and Alexia Putellas.
The Camp Nou was packed to the rafters, with a record attendance of 91,553 spectators, to witness a spectacular goalscoring festival. Barcelona started the game strongly and took the lead in the 12th minute through Oshoala. Crnogorcevic made it 2-0 in the 25th minute, before Pina added a third just before half-time.
Real Sociedad pulled one back through Sanni Franssi in the 53rd minute, but Barcelona quickly restored their three-goal advantage through Bonmatí. Hansen then made it six before Alexia marked her return from a 117-day absence to injury by adding a seventh with Amaiur Sarriegi sneaking in an eighth. Oshoala completed the scoring with her hat-trick goal in the 81st minute.
