Severe Weather Warnings Issued for Parts of NSW and Victoria

Critical Thunderstorm and Heavy Rainfall Warnings in Effect

Issued by the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM), severe weather warnings have been issued for parts of New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria, with the potential for damaging thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and large hail. The warnings are currently in place for the following areas:

Affected Areas in NSW

* Central Coast * Greater Sydney * Illawarra * Hunter Valley * Mid North Coast * Northern Rivers * Southern Tablelands * South Coast * parts of Northern Tablelands, Central Tablelands, and North West Slopes and Plains

Affected Areas in Victoria

* North East * Northern Country * North Central * West and South Gippsland * Wimmera * parts of Central, Mallee, South West, and East Gippsland

Warnings and Advice

The BOM has issued the following warnings:

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning: For the Central Coast, Greater Sydney, and Illawarra. Damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall are expected. * Heavy Rainfall Warning: For the Hunter Valley, Mid North Coast, Northern Rivers, and South Coast. Heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding. * Flood Watch: For the Northern Rivers and Mid North Coast. Minor to moderate flooding is possible in some areas.
